My next guest for “Songwriter’s Tales” is one of the friendliest, genuinely good souls that I have had the privilege to meet on my musical journey. Hannah Franklin first came into my life at a writer’s showcase at the Walbash kitchen. When people say the phrase that someone has the voice of an angel, I immediately think of Hannah’s sweet voice.

When I asked Hannah how her musical journey began, she said, “I moved to Nashville in 2019 and really began pursuing music by trying to find co-writers first and then eventually producers and other connections. The process wasn't the easiest, but God has led me to the greatest people and opportunities!” That’s such a wonderful outlook to have when walking this independent artist path.

Highlights from musical journeys often vary but according to Hannah hers are,” The highlight has been writing and recording original music. It's been such a fun experience getting to create songs from a simple idea and watch them grow into full pieces of art. “ At the end of the day every musician needs to find a centering thought to keep themselves grounded and focused on the beauty of what we are doing. Creating full pieces of art is a beautiful way to put it. As songwriters, we never know what people we are going to meet when we enter into that writers room.

My favorite question for all artist on the “Songwriter’s Tale” is to ask about a song that is special to them. Here is what Hannah has to say about her unreleased song, “Pays to be Poor.” “Pays to Be Poor is an unreleased song that means a lot to me! I co-wrote it with my main co-writer Thorne Wiggs, and it's a song about not having a lot of money, but having a lot of the things that matter most in life. “

Normally, I would say what’s on the horizon for our songwriter, but I’m a little late for releasing this article. Back in May, Hannah released her song, “Ain’t Got a Heartbreak left in Me.” Here’s what she has to say about that release, “My upcoming release was actually inspired by something my roommate said. She was talking to this guy, and she said something along the lines of "I hope he's a good one because I ain't got a heartbreak left in me," and I told her I just had to write that song. I took the idea to Thorne, and we wrote it in about an hour or so! “
